Shared mobility in the Netherlands
Convenient, more sustainable, and quick: shared electric cars, scooters, and bikes are upcoming and very popular. In big Dutch cities, there's no way around them. We are fans!
Especially when you live in a bustling city, sharing electrical cars, scooters, and bikes is the new way to go. Overcrowded parking spots are no problem anymore, just like the high parking fees you no longer have to pay. Extremely helpful to go to friends, to your work, or to the city center. Let's see what kind of options you have when you're interested in grabbing a car, scooter, or bike!
Shared cars: Amber
Shared cars are a good alternative if you do not want to spend a lot of money on having your own car. By using shared electric cars, you save on road tax, car insurance and depreciation, and maintenance. Several companies offer shared cars. Our favorite shared car company is Amber.
Amber works with a pay-as-you-go service. Perfect when you occasionally need a car but don’t need it every day. Amber cars are electrical, modern, and smart-looking. Who doesn’t want to ride a BMWi3? You can pick up the electrical cars at one of Amber’s hubs, which can be found in convenient places throughout several Dutch cities. The shared electrical cars can be picked up at one of Amber’s hubs, which can be found in convenient places throughout Dutch cities.
In Eindhoven, you can pick up Amber cars at one of the hubs near the Holland2Stay buildings Victoriapark, The Wall, and The Beech. There are also hubs at Flying Deer in Utrecht and The Sparkle in Capelle aan den IJssel. Download the Amber app and register, and you're ready to go! The app will assign you to one of the Amber cars parked close to the building. You can also open the car using the app.
The cities Eindhoven, Utrecht, Den Haag, Rotterdam, Den Bosch, and Tilburg have serviced areas where you can leave or grab a car wherever you are. If there is no Amber car nearby, they will bring it to you.
